Alleged impaired driver charged with several infractions in Brocket

A 40-year-old resident of Brocket, Nigel Big Weasel, was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance (fentanyl), four counts of Failing to Comply with a Release Order and was issued provincial sanctions for impaired driving by drug and his driver’s licence was suspended.

On Apr. 11, a Piikani RCMP officer was flagged down by a member of the public regarding a possible impaired driver who had just turned into the Brocket townsite. 

Piikani RCMP located the suspect vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. Big Weasel was confirmed to be the driver and lone occupant of the vehicle. Big Weasel was bound by a release order stemming from multiple charges of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking fentanyl, cocaine and methamphetamine. 

After a Judicial Interim Release Hearing, Big Weasel was remanded for Lethbridge court Apr. 17.
