Woman facing impaired driving charges after fatal rollover

A woman is facing charges in connection to a single vehicle rollover that claimed the life of a 25-year-old man.

Police responded to the rollover near Pavan Park on May 2, just before 3 a.m.

“Three uninjured females and a critically injured male who was still inside the vehicle. One of the females was performing CPR on the male and police took over life-saving measures until EMS arrived. The male was transported to Chinook Regional Hospital where he was pronounced deceased,” reads a news release from the Lethbridge Police Service.

Police say 24-year-old Jesse Ann Fortune of Shaughnessy was driving when the vehicle rolled several times.

“The female displayed signs of impairment and following further investigation, was arrested and charged,” police say.

She is facing impaired driving causing death, impaired operation over .08 causing death and dangerous driving causing death.

Fortune was released from custody and is prohibited from driving. She is scheduled to appear in court on May 30.
