Interfaith Food Bank receives $120,000 in federal funding for Building Possibilities project

The federal government is investing $120,000 into Lethbridge’s Interfaith Food Bank and its Building Possibilities project.

Funding was announced by Infrastructure Minister Francois-Philippe Champagne Friday who says the expanded facility will offer peace of mind to residents by increasing access to food bank services.

The project is now in its third phase with renovations set to include the expansion and improvement of the client intake area and added classrooms for community programming.

Executive Director, Danielle McIntyre, says she’s hopeful construction will get underway this winter with a completion goal of spring 2020.

The province and city have also contributed just over $120,000.
