Matt Anholt named Hurricanes’ associate head coach

Matt Anholt has been promoted to associate head coach of the Lethbridge Hurricanes and assistant general manager of the Lethbridge Hurricanes Hockey Club.  

Assistant Coach Ryan Aasman has also signed a two-year extension, entering his fourth year with the Hurricanes. He originally joined the Hurricanes prior to the 2021-2022 season, as video coach. 

Anholt has spent six seasons with the Hurricanes in various roles including skills and development coach, assistant coach and assistant general manager. Anholt has signed a two-year extension and will assume the associate head coach role under current head coach Bill Peters. 

According to the Club, Anholt represented the Hurricanes internationally at the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge last season, where he served as an assistant coach with Canada Red U17.
