Lethbridge man charged after stabbing outside supervised consumption site

A Lethbridge man is facing serious charges in relation to a stabbing over the weekend.

Police were called to the Supervised Consumption Site at around 2:30 Saturday morning.

A 39 year old man and 29 year old man, who police say are known to each other, got into a fight on the street.

The younger man allegedly hit the other man in the head then stabbed him in the face with a knife after he fell to the ground.

The victim was treated in hospital and released.

29 year old Nathan Luke Brewer has been charged with two counts of assault with a weapon and possession of a dangerous weapon.

He was released from custody on several conditions including no contact with the victim and a prohibition from attending within 100 metres of the Supervised Consumption Site.

Brewer was arrested the following day for breaching a recognizance by allegedly going to the SCS and is currently in custody waiting for a second Judicial Interim Release.
