Vulcan RCMP investigating weekend collision

A two-vehicle collision in Vulcan County is under investigation.

At around 11 a.m. on Sunday, July 28, 2024, the Vulcan RCMP and High River Traffic Services responded to a 911 call reporting a collision on Highway 23, at the intersection of Highway 24 in Vulcan County.

Police say a southbound pickup truck collided with an eastbound SUV. According to RCMP, the SUV had left the eastbound stop sign to cross Highway 24 when the collision happened in the middle of the intersection.

There was one person in the pickup truck. Police say they were treated for minor non-life-threatening injuries. Three people in the SUV were taken to a Calgary area hospital, with one individual flown by STARS Air Ambulance.
