A judge handing a Lethbridge woman a two year house arrest sentence after she pleaded guilty to fraud, stolen property and stolen identity charges.
29 year old Samantha Ellison was arrested in early 2018, when Lethbridge Police found an SUV with a stolen licence plate, in the parking lot of a local hotel.
Identity documents belonging to four people were also recovered.
Investigation determined that Ellision used a local woman’s identity to obtain a loan and purchase the $40-thousand SUV in Edmonton.
Ellison pleaded guilty to seven charges last week including possession of stolen property over $5000, possession of identity documents and a stolen credit card, and fraud under $5000.
