Final tally for Jasper fundraiser comes in at $2.9 million 

The Canadian Red Cross has released updates figures from a campaign to help those affected by the Jasper wildfires. 

Officials say $973,158 was raised during the Alberta Day of Caring for Jasper on Wednesday, July 31, 2024.  

Bottle depots in Alberta also collected donations of cans and bottles for the cause. 

With donation-matching from both the provincial and federal governments, the final total came out to $2,919,474. 

Radio stations across the province, including 94.1 CJOC and 98.1 the Ranch helped collect donations for the cause. Funds will help with humanitarian aid for evacuees, including financial assistance and relief supplies.
