Coaldale Transfer Station open for biodegradable waste

As of Saturday, the Coaldale Transfer Station will be accepting greenery three days a week.

According to the Town of Coaldale, the facility is located off Highway 845 on Range Road 201A and will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays.

Greenery being accepted includes plants, landscape vegetation, vegetative garden waste and leaves or grass clippings, as well as house plants. Any tree branches dropped off need to be under three inches in diameter and under six feet long.

Garbage, construction materials, plastic or non-biodegradable bags will not be accepted at the facility. To be able to use the facility, people are being reminded they need to sign up beforehand.
