It’s Lethbridge’s third annual Reconciliation Week.
A flag raising was held at City Hall Monday morning to kick things off.
A number of events are taking place around the city including a Blackfoot cooking class at the Interfaith Food Bank and a talk from the President of the Metis Nation of Alberta.
This year’s keynote speaker is Eugene Brave Rock, a well-known actor from the Blood Reserve.
Co-Chair of Reconciliation Lethbridge, Amanda Scout, says it’s important to recognize the week and participate but it’s also important these conversations continue to happen year-round.
Lethbridge City Hall will also be lit up in red, yellow, and blue throughout this week to draw awareness to the importance of Reconciliation in the community.
