Fort Macleod Emergency Department to close part of Friday

The emergency department at the Fort Macleod Health Centre will be closed for the afternoon on Friday due to a lack of physician coverage.

Alberta Health Services says the ED will be closed tomorrow from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., before reopening and returning to 24-hour service. EMS calls will be re-routed to Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge. Anyone who needs emergency services can also get them at the Pincher Creek Health Centre, Cardston Health Centre, Claresholm Community Health Centre or Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge.

You can also call Health Link at 811, which is available 24/7 for non-emergency health-related questions. Individuals requiring non-emergency medical care are also encouraged to call their family physician.
