Police lay charges after machete allegedly passed around in public

Lethbridge Police charging a 37 year old man with weapons offences after he was allegedly passing around a machete outside the Supervised Consumption Site.

Officers responded just after 6:30am Tuesday to a report of several men handling the weapon.

Police located one of them a short distance away and found the machete stuffed inside his pants along with a second knife and a small amount of meth.

The man is bound by conditions not to possess any weapons.

Shane Garrett Williams of Standoff has been charged with two counts of possession of a weapon, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of meth and breach of probation.
