A Cardston woman learned she was a MAXMILLIONAIRE while running errands with her grandson.
Beth Ann Day Chief says she found out she won $1 million a couple of days after the August 6th draw when she checked a few tickets she had at London Drugs in Centre Village Mall.
“I had a Free Play on the first ticket, $2 on the second, and then I scanned the final ticket and thought it said $10,000.” “I handed it to the retailer to confirm it, and his eyes went really big,” she said. “He said, ‘OMG you won a million dollars! This has never happened before in this store!’”
Day Chief adds when she called her husband to tell him, she had to make sure he knew she wasn’t kidding as he didn’t believe her at first. She says they are considering taking a family vacation to Hawaii “and then we’ll let it all sink in.”
The winning $1 million ticket was bought at the Northside Gas and the money was won by matching one of the MAXMILLIONS selections drawn on August 6: 8, 18, 20, 21, 29, 47, and 50.
