Lethbridge Police are issuing a reminder that electric motorcycles cannot be used on public property in Alberta.
This reminder follows members of the Traffic Response Unit charging an individual for allegedly driving an electric off-road motorcycle 60 kilometres an hour on a sidewalk in downtown Lethbridge. Police have charged the driver of the motorcycle with driving an unregistered and uninsured motor vehicle.
According to a statement from LPS officials, in Alberta electric motorcycles can only be used on private land and private land and are not allowed to be driven on public roads or highways, including sidewalks.
