Lethbridge home sales trending upwards in October

The number of homes sold in Lethbridge and the number of homes on the market in the area in October were down compared to the same month last year.

According to the latest statistics from the Alberta Real Estate Association, over the 31-day-period 156 properties were sold, a 1.9 per cent downtick from the same month last year. The number of properties on the market also was down 2.9 per cent according to the AREA report, with 339 active listings.

In October, 190 new listings were put on the market, a 38.7 per cent boost from 2023. The total residential price average also increased by 16.2 per cent to $405,096.

In the first ten months of 2024, apartment sales have seen the largest jump with 214 sold, a 18 per cent boost for the same period last year. Detached homes however still are seeing the most sales with 1,249 sold in over the 301 days. Total residential sales across all categories have seen a five per cent boost in the same period and the average price has seen a 12 per cent jump to $384,729.
