‘Help-Portrait’ returns this holiday season

A group of professional photographers will be offering free, high-quality family portraits to Lethbridge residents who, for a variety of reasons, might not be able to afford a family photo this holiday season.

Through “Help-Portrait” individuals and families in-need can attend the event Dec. 14 and benefit from the collective professional creativity of more than 40 volunteers, photographers, lighting experts, makeup artists and stylists to receive a free portrait.

“Every year, the impact of this event touches the hearts of the whole city,” says Steven Layton, event director and professional photographer. “We canʼt wait to help more people this year.”

Layton adds the program has reached out to a number of community organizations to help explain the “Help-Portrait” concept. “We’re confident the people who can benefit from this experience will be able to take advantage of it.”

“Help-Portrait,” a not-for-profit organization, was formed in 2008 by celebrity photographer Jeremy Cowart, as he contemplated using his skills and expertise to give back to those who may not have the opportunity for a professional photo.

The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Quest Impact, located at 103 920 2A Avenue North.
