Pincher Creek pair charged break and enter, theft

RCMP are urging the public to be sure to check potential contractors’ references when hiring them following the alleged break-and-enter where a safe with multiple guns inside was reported stolen.

According to Pincher Cree RCMP, on November 7th officers were called to the rural home where the guns and various other items were allegedly taken from. The police investigation resulted in the execution of a search warrant where police are said to have recovered one of the guns and other items.

According to a statement from police, “It was determined that the victim was targeted through a construction contractor who had hired known criminals who returned after the work to commit the offence.”

Craig Peterson is facing 18 charges including break and enter to steal firearms and failing to comply with a firearms prohibition order. Courtney Periard is facing five charges including break and enter to steal firearms. Both Pincher Creek residents are scheduled to appear in Alberta Court of Justice in Pincher Creek next week.
