City announces trio of free parking days downtown

The City of Lethbridge is giving residents an early Christmas present this year with three days of free parking in December.

In partnership with the Downtown Business Revitalization Zone and the Heart of Our City Committee, parking will be free in the downtown area on December 4, 11 and 18.

The City says the hope is to encourage people to visit the many businesses in the area without being impacted by the roadblock of having to pay to park.

Executive Director for the Downtown BRZ Sarah Amies says the organization is excited to partner with the City to offer this extra incentive for shoppers, as this time of year is important to all small businesses.

“We are pleased to work with our stakeholders to help promote these incentivized days,” adds Phillip Berg, parking coordinator for the City of Lethbridge.

Along with the free parking days, the City has released a video that outlines how to use parking kiosks and shares other general information about parking downtown.

This video is available at the City of Lethbridge YouTube page.
