A Lethbridge man is one of five people facing charges after an alleged incident in northern Alberta.
On Sunday, January 12, at about 8 p.m., the High Level RCMP and the detachment’s Crime Reduction Unit responded to a report of people with a firearm that had been shot toward a house in the town. Mounties say the suspects were reported to be trying to enter the home or were fighting, around 106 Street.Â
The RCMP attended the scene and safely arrested two women and three men, one of whom is from Lethbridge. Police say they confiscated two firearms, roughly 50 grams of suspected cocaine and about 2800 unstamped cigarettes.Â
Lethbridge resident Jamie Hollands, 31, is charged with the following:Â
- Two counts of pointing a firearmÂ
- Two counts of discharging a firearm with intentÂ
- Possession of cocaine for the purpose of traffickingÂ
- Possession of a firearm with a tampered serial numberÂ
- Possession/selling of unstamped tobaccoÂ
- Two counts of unsafe storage of firearmsÂ
- Two counts of possession of a firearm/weapon/device/ammunition in a motor vehicleÂ
- Using a firearm in the commission of an offenceÂ
- Two counts of unauthorized possession of a prohibited/restricted weaponÂ
- Possession of restricted/prohibited weapon with ammunition easily accessibleÂ
- Two counts of possession of a restricted/prohibited weapon with ammunition without licenseÂ
The RCMP says Hollands is set to appear in provincial court in Chateh on Wednesday, January 15.
