Taber Police charge a 20-year-old Coaldale man for impaired driving

A Coaldale man is facing criminal charges for impaired driving in connection to what police are describing as a serious collision in Taber Sunday night.

According to Taber Police Service officials, police and emergency crews were called around 10:15 p.m. Sunday to an incident involving a vehicle that collided with a landscaping rock in the front yard of a local home.

Officials say the investigation into the incident indicated the 20-year-old driver was stunting at a roundabout on 60th Ave when he lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle remained out of control as it went down 43rd Ave and struck the landscaping rock.

Police say two till out of control before striking a large landscaping rock on the front yard of a residence in the 5800 block of 43 Street. Two of the passengers were transported to hospital with minor injuries.

Police reported the driver of the vehicle failed the roadside breathalyzer test he provided and issued Immediate Roadside Sanctions which includes an immediate 90-day licence suspension, a 30-day seizure of his vehicle seizure along with an administrative fee. The 20 year-old is also facing criminal charges in connection to the collision.

The driver is scheduled to appear in court at the beginning of April.
