The results are in, and the Meals on Wheels 23 Days of Christmas campaign was a success. The holiday initiative raised $30,000 thanks to the help of 33 local businesses.
Meals on Wheels has volunteers deliver hot meals to people in the community that cannot provide for themselves. Over the past 16 years, the program has raised over $374,000.
Each December, Meals on Wheels teams up with Select People Solutions, Teamworks Career Centre, and Cuppers Coffee & Tea for the 23 Days of Christmas campaign.
It allows businesses to sponsor a full or half-days’ worth of meals, with thousands of meals delivered as part of the 2024 campaign.
“We are deeply grateful to our community partners and supporters who stepped up to make a real difference,” says Ryan Miller, CEO of Teamwork Training Ltd.
“The impact of this program has been truly remarkable, and we are proud of what we’ve accomplished together. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to every individual, volunteer, and organization that has contributed to this effort. Your dedication and generosity have made an immense difference in the lives of so many.”
Officials add the program not only offers hot meals, but social connections to those receiving those meals.
