Lethbridge high school wrestlers hit the mat in regional qualifiers

On Mar. 1, high school wrestling regional qualifiers or the ASAA Rural Provincials will be held in Red Deer at Notre Dame High School.

The Lethbridge Wrestling School Program has successfully concluded its regular season.

These qualifiers are crucial, as they determine who will advance to the ASAA Provincial Championships in Calgary Mar. 14-15.

Wrestlers need to place in the top five of their weight group to advance to the provincials. Both the LCI boys and girls wrestling squads will try to repeat as champions for the 4A Rural Provincial Team titles again this year.

“Our team has worked incredibly hard this season. The regional qualifiers are a true test of their dedication and skill. We’re confident our wrestlers will rise to the occasion and make us proud,” says Lethbridge Coach Pat Selk.
