Free parking days returning to downtown Lethbridge

A free parking initiative is back in Lethbridge this week.

On the last Wednesday of every month, starting March 26, parking will be free in the downtown of the city.

“The BRZ and the City of Lethbridge have negotiated another 10 free parking days during 2025 for the [downtown] and its customers,” says Sarah Amies, the BRZ’s executive director. Amies adds the free parking will last through to August 27.

“The first four Wednesdays of December will also offer free parking days,” she adds.

“Offering free parking on select days will encourage customers to shop and stay a while in the [downtown] as they do not have to worry about parking fines.  The free parking days also support business owners in attracting customers through their doors.”

In early 2024, the City of Lethbridge announced parking-related changes, including new parking enforcement hours from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., which was a change from the previous hours of 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Free parking is still in effect on weekends.
