Medical emergency believed to be a contributing factor to a collision outside Taber

A medical emergency is reported to be a factor in a collision outside of Taber Tuesday morning.

According to the Taber Police Service, local officers along with members of Taber Emergency Services responded to a motor vehicle collision on Highway #864 between 50 Avenue and 56 Avenue around 9:45 a.m. Tuesday. Police say during their investigation they found the driver of the northbound pickup truck on Highway #864 appeared to have suffered a medical emergency, resulting in them swerving head-on into a southbound van.

Both vehicles were significantly damaged during the collision, with the driver of the truck along with two people in the van being taken to hospital for what officials describe as “varying degrees of injuries.”
