A 25-year-old man is facing charges after throwing rocks at the Taber Police Station and breaking a window in the Chief of Police’s office.
According to Taber Police Service officials, around 1:20 a.m. on Saturday, an officer is reported to have heard loud banging outside of the station and then heard breaking glass from inside the chief’s office.
Two vehicles belonging to police service staff are reported to have been found damaged when the officer went outside to investigate, where a large hole in the office window is also said to have been found.
According to a statement from TBS officials, “the officer encountered a male who attempted to run from the scene. The male fled on foot but was apprehended by another officer in a police vehicle a short distance away.”
The 25-year-old from Barnwell is facing a handful of charges connected to mischief. He is scheduled to appear in court on May 6th.
