Lethbridge Police have charged a 28-year-old male after recovering a stolen truck and high-end bicycle. A second male was also apprehended in connection with the incident, following a search of the river valley.
On Apr. 15, the owner of a Ford F150 previously reported stolen from Coaldale, observed the vehicle near the Par 3 golf course and attempted to block it in. A male passenger exited and ran into the coulees, while the driver rammed the other vehicle then fled in the truck.
LPS and RCMP engaged in a coordinated search of the river valley and located the passenger hiding in the coulees. He was subsequently arrested by RCMP and transported to the detachment.
Later in the evening, a member of the Downtown Policing Unit observed a suspicious male in possession of a high-end bicycle in the area along the 200 block of 8 Street North. The male fled from police, with the officer following in his vehicle for a short time, then exiting and pursuing the subject on foot.
When the officer caught up with him, the male actively resisted before being taken into custody. Upon his arrest, police confirmed the male was the subject who previously fled from the golf course in the stolen F150.
During a search incidental to arrest, the male was found in possession of a set of Ford keys, methamphetamine and police determined the bike he was riding had been stolen from Brooks. The owner of the bike registered it as stolen on Bike Index and has since been notified of its recovery.
The stolen Ford truck was recovered on the westside.
Quinn Mitchell Pozzo, 28, of Brooks, is charged with allegedly two counts of possession of stolen property, possession of a controlled substance and resisting a peace officer.
Pozzo is currently in custody awaiting a Judicial Interim Release hearing.
