UPDATE: The cause of a structure fire in north Lethbridge Friday morning is under investigation.
According to Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services, firefighters from a trio of Lethbridge fire stations responded to a backyard garage fire in the 1700 block of 2 Avenue North around 8:40 a.m. Friday.
Crews are said to have been able to get the fire under control in short fashion and contained to the garage. Homes on either side of the property are reported to have smoke damage and the fire also burned a power pole leading to the power lines detaching from the pole, causing a power outage in the surrounding area. Power is said to have been restored to the 224 customers.
The total damage is estimated to be around $75,000.
According to LFES officials there were no injuries reported.

Not too many details are available but officials with the City confirmed the incident was along the 1700 block of 2 Avenue North. Residents in and around the area might notice black smoke as a result of the incident.
Residents are advised to avoid the area if they can.Â
