Wag and Walk promotes ‘health and wellness for you and your pet’

On May 10, the Second Annual Charity Wag and Walk returns to Henderson Lake from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The event is a fun, family-friendly event promoting health and wellness for you and your pets.

There will be a competitive run and charity walk, family and pet-friendly activities, food trucks, vendors, information booths and animal shelters with adoptable pets.

Devin Brewin from Telus says the event started as an internal initiative for employees, but became an opportunity for Lethbridge community members to participate. “I know there’s a lot of folks that love their pets.”

According to Brewin, the entry fee to participate in the event is a non-perishable food item or any kind of pet supplies. “Those are going to be donated to food banks and animal shelters.”

“It’s also a good opportunity for local businesses to get out and promote their business, as well,” Brewin adds.

A lot of support, Brewin notes, comes from the local pet hospitals, clinics and some of the pet stores. “And anything related to health, wellness and/or pets.”

“Hopefully, we get a lot of people out,” says Brewin. “Last year, we donated to an animal shelter in Pincher Creek and Taber Lost Paws – they were the two that needed it the most, and the Lethbridge Food Bank and Streets Alive got a donation.”
