LSCO’s Mother’s Day Brunch celebrates moms and mother-figures May 11

LSCO or the Lethbridge Senior Citizens Organization is celebrating mothers at their annual Mother’s Day Brunch May 11.

The Mother’s Day Brunch will feature a delicious buffet, door prizes with gifts that moms will love and family photos from professional portrait photographer Keely Goulding.

“We’re so happy and excited to celebrate the incredible mothers and mother-figures who have given so much to our families and our community,” says Executive Director Kaitlynn Weaver. “Mother’s Day is a special time to show our appreciation. We look forward to making every mom feel valued, by not only their family members, but also from the staff and volunteers at the LSCO.”

For Weaver, this special event is more than a celebration – it’s a heartfelt tribute to the women whose love, resilience and wisdom have shaped families and the community for generations.

“Mothers truly are the foundation of strong and healthy communities,” adds Weaver. “Here at the LSCO, we support older adults, many of whom are mothers and grandmothers. For us, it just makes sense to offer this event to the community because of all mothers have done for our organization and for the City of Lethbridge.”

Weaver notes the event is not just for seniors and is open to the public. “Anyone who has a mom or mother-figure can register and be a part of it and celebrate.”

Mothers are the foundation of our society, Weaver adds. “We’ve been doing this now for a couple of years.”

“It’s a nice thing people can attend rather than plan for themselves. Mothers, especially, can relax. I feel like even when you do have a Mother’s Day event sometimes it does end up with the moms kind of taking over and they’re filling in, which is great because that’s such a classic ‘mom’ experience for them to always be providing support – even when they’re the ones that need to relax,” says Weaver.

Tickets for the Mother’s Day Brunch are available now and can be reserved online or by contacting LSCO directly.

All proceeds from the brunch will support LSCO’s ongoing programs and services for older adults, many of whom are mothers and grandmothers themselves.
