If you find yourself using the river near the Peenaquim Dog Park throughout the day, the City of Lethbridge is asking you to be extra cautious.
On Monday night, shortly after 6 p.m., an advisory was issued that “an unknown quantity of fire suppression concentrate” was exiting the wastewater treatment plant through its outfall. Officials say there has been no impact on Lethbridge’s drinking water system.
The advisory has been put in place as a precautionary measure, with the City saying it was in effect for the next 24 hours.
