More measles cases have been reported in the South Health Zone.Â
Alberta Health Services says people in the following areas during the following times may have been exposed to the illness:Â
- Lethbridge Polytechnic (3000 College Dr. S., Lethbridge)
- May 1:Â 9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (MDT)
- May 2:Â 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (MDT)Â
- Lethbridge Wholesale Club (1706 Mayor Magrath Dr. S., Lethbridge)
- May 4:Â 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. (MDT)Â
- Walmart – Medicine Hat (2051 Strachan Rd. SE, Medicine Hat)
- May 2:Â 1 p.m. – midnight (MDT)
- May 3:Â 3 p.m. – midnight (MDT)
- May 5:Â 5 p.m. – midnight (MDT)Â
- Walmart -Taber (4500 64 St., Taber)
- May 5: Exposure time: 6 p.m. – 8:10 p.m. (MDT) Â
- Johnson’s Drugs (5204 48 Ave, Taber)
- May 6:Â Exposure time: 5 p.m. – 7:10 p.m. (MDT)Â
Symptoms of measles include a fever, a cough, a runny nose and/or red eyes, and a rash that shows up three to seven days after the fever starts. The rash usually begins behind the ears and on the face, and spreads down to the body and then to the arms and legs.Â
Anyone feeling symptoms is asked to stay home and can call the provincial measles hotline at 1-844-944-3434 before visiting any health care facility. As of Tuesday, May 13, there were 374 cases reported in the province, with 12 listed as active.Â
