The Lethbridge Hurricanes say the 2004-born forward has signed the deal with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, the AHL affiliate of the NHL’s Pittsburgh Penguins.
The 20-year-old from Abbotsford, B.C. was acquired by Lethbridge’s WHL team in January 2022 from the Winnipeg ICE. Edwards was drafted by the ICE in the sixth-round (127th overall) of the 2019 WHL Prospects Draft.

In his time with Lethbridge, Edwards scored 82 goals and dished out 117 assists. He added 10 goals and 14 assists in 28 career playoff contests.
His leadership skills led him to serve as an alternate captain for the ‘Canes for two seasons. During the 2024-25 season, Edwards had a career high 77 points with 31 goals and 46 assists. In 16 playoff games, he scored six goals and recorded 11 assists to help Lethbridge make it to the Eastern Conference Championship Series, where they were ultimately eliminated by the Medicine Hat Tigers.
