South Lethbridge vehicle fire causes $70K in damages

There were no injuries in a weekend fire in south Lethbridge. 

At around 4:30 a.m. on Sunday, Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services responded to reports of a vehicle fire behind a property along the 1400 block of 2 Avenue South. 

In total, 19 firefighters from four stations attended the scene and found two cargo vans fully engulfed in flames. 

Responders breached a secure fence and were able to contain the fire to the two vehicles involved, preventing the flames from spreading to any surrounding property. 

Damage is estimated at $70,000 with the cause of the fire under investigation.
