Police investigate rollover collision

Lethbridge Police are investigating a single vehicle rollover collision that resulted in serious injuries to the driver and occupant.

On May 26, at approximately 9:20 p.m., police and EMS responded to a report of a single vehicle rollover in the coulees behind the 800 block of Jessie Mcleay Road North.

Upon arrival, police located a 33-year-old female passenger a short distance from the vehicle, and the 35-year-old male driver still inside. The man and woman were transported to hospital and admitted with serious injuries.

Following further investigation, it was determined the vehicle had been travelling northbound on Stafford Drive and failed to navigate a corner before crashing through chain link fence and rolling multiple times down an embankment. Police believe both speed and alcohol were factors in the crash.

The investigation is ongoing and charges are pending.
