If you are in the Taber area over the next few days, you will notice a heavier police presence around W.R. Myers High School.

The Taber Police Service is undertaking training scenarios, including some where weapons will be drawn.

The exercises started Tuesday, July 8 and will go through Friday, July 11. Officers will take a break over the weekend, and training will resume Monday, July 14 and Tuesday, July 15.

Signs are posted by the school on 54 Street, advising of the training.

Residents in the area might notice some loud noises and some that sound like gunshots. However, police say the training will not include any live fire scenarios.
