The unofficial results from the 2025 municipal elections are in for Coaldale.

Jack Van Rijn is projected to be re-elected as the town’s mayor, with a reported 1,176 votes. Henry Doeve received 695 votes in his bid for the mayor’s seat.

Meanwhile, Jacen Abrey, Jason Beekman, Bill Chapman, Dale Pickering, Lisa Reis, and Jordan Sailer are projected to be councillors, with those unofficial results as follows:

  • Jason Beekman: 1,384
  • Bill Chapman: 1,185
  • Jacen Abrey: 1,116
  • Dale Pickering: 1,022
  • Lisa Reis: 890
  • Jordan Sailer: 879
  • Eric Berns: 872
  • Brent Ginther: 772
  • Gary Scherer: 697

The results are unofficial until they are ratified. Due to the changes to the Municipal Elections Act, votes are being counted by hand rather than by electronic tabulators. The change could impact the speed in which results become available in some communities.
