Low Rent: Lethbridge continues as one of the cheapest for rent in Canada

Lethbridge continues to have some of the lowest rent prices for cities in Canada.

The November National Rent Report from Rentals.ca, shows Lethbridge finished 34th out of 36 cities for average monthly rent for a one-bedroom home at $917.

Lethbridge also ranked as having the lowest overall average rent for a two-bedroom place at just over a thousand dollars a month.

Rentals.ca says average rent for all property types in Lethbridge is flat year over year, averaging out at a $1,003 a month across the board.

Calgary finished 23rd of 36 cities for average monthly rent for a one-bedroom home at $1,190 and 25th for average monthly rent for a two-bedroom at $1,411.

On the flip side, as one might have expected, Toronto and Vancouver have the highest home rental costs in the country.

Toronto’s average monthly rent edged up slightly to $2,320 to remain the priciest city for renters for a one-bedroom home, while Vancouver had the highest rents for a two-bedroom at $2,949.
