Winning LOTTO MAX ticket nets Lethbridge woman $1 million

A Lethbridge woman is a million dollars richer.

After a routine dog walk with her two pups, Sandra Mogdan checked her Dec. 31 LOTTO MAX ticket at a local gas station. To her surprise, she learned she had won $1 million.

“I was stunned,” Mogdan said. “I may have said some mildly explicit words!”

After learning that she was a new millionaire, she went to tell her husband, saying, “It took him a few minutes for it to register for him.”

“[We both] still think it’s unreal!”

As for how she will use her winnings, Mogdan said, “I’m hoping we’ll get our driveway fixed. [After that], I am going to invest and save the rest.”

She adds that her and her husband are in their 60s, “So it is just going to change the rest of our life.”

“We had an idea of what the next 20 years would look like and now, that is changing.”

Mogdan said with the big win, the couple will be “way more comfortable in retirement and better able to help our grandchildren”.

The Lethbridge winner purchased her ticket at the Lakeview Gas King on 12 Avenue South.
