Milk River Health Centre Emergency Department temporarily closed Monday

Due to an unexpected clinical personnel shortage, the Milk River Health Centre Emergency Department will be temporarily closed from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, April 20.

Officials noted that during the temporary closure, nursing staff will remain on-site to provide care for long-term care residents.

Patients are asked to call 911 if they have a medical emergency, while EMS services are ready to respond to emergency events and support inter-facility transfers to nearby sites.

Patients needing care can access emergency services at the Raymond Health Centre and Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge.

Residents are reminded to call Health Link at 811, which is available 24/7 for non-emergency health-related questions. Anyone who needs non-emergency medical care is also encouraged to call their family physician.
