Burned out truck found in BC believed to be that of missing Calgary man

RCMP believe a burned out pickup truck found in western British Columbia belongs to a Calgary man who’s been missing for a week and a half.

The Calgary Police Service says Marshal Iwaasa, 26, was last seen by his family in Lethbridge on Nov. 17. He was supposed to return to Calgary that day, but hasn’t been heard from since.

RCMP in Pemberton, BC, which is located about 30km north of Whistler, found the burned out vehicle on Monday (Nov. 25), and notified Iwaasa’s family. His truck is described as a dark blue 2009 GMC Sierra, with Alberta plate BLL-1099.

Iwaasa is 5’11” tall, approximately 170 pounds, with brown eyes, shoulder-length brown hair that’s usually worn tied back, and a moustache. He was last seen wearing a green hoody, a grey toque, red high top shoes and black pants.

Anyone with information about Iwaasa’s disappearance is asked to contact Pemberton RCMP or the Calgary Police Service right away.

I started my radio career in 2015, shortly after graduating from Lethbridge College. I have a very strong passion for local news. Proudly born in 1994, I grew up most of my life in Sylvan Lake, AB and I've lived in the Lethbridge since 2012. I'm a below average golfer on a good day, I take as many hiking trips to Waterton as possible in the summer and I love my two cats, Outlaw and Jynx, and my dog, Maverick, more than most people I know. I look forward to providing accurate, timely news coverage in southern Alberta for plenty of years to come!
