New all-way stop implemented in south Lethbridge

Drivers in Lethbridge are advised of an intersection change.

On Wednesday, June 17, the intersection of 20 Avenue South and 40 Street/Cedar Road South is being converted to an all-way stop.

The City of Lethbridge said the change is being done to improve traffic flow and boost safety for both pedestrians and motorists. The move follows a review of increased traffic volumes in the area, as well as collision history and “near misses reported by nearby residents”, according to the City.

Officials noted that message boards have been set up near the intersection to advise roadway users of the change.

Drivers are being asked to approach the intersection with caution, come to a complete stop, and proceed safely while following all-way stop rules.
