Drugs, weapons charges laid after search warrant in west Lethbridge

A 50 year old Lethbridge woman is facing charges after police say a gun, drugs and stolen property were seized from a west side home.

Officers executed a search warrant last Thursday afternoon at the home along Assiniboia Way.

Six people were inside at the time.

Police recovered a .22 calibre rifle, a small quantity of meth, a larger quantity of an unknown powder suspected of being a buffing agent, just over $2,000 cash and stolen ID, credit cards and bicycles.

Cheri Ellen Komar is charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a weapon obtained by the commission of an offence, possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of the proceeds of crime, possession of stolen identity documents, possession of stolen credit cards and three counts of breach of a recognizance.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are anticipated.
