Animal services urges responsible pet ownership after kitten rescue

Three kittens are safe after spending the night inside a commercial utility compound during heavy rain, according to Community Animal Services.

Officials report enforcement officers found the three kittens inside the compound and took them to an animal shelter.

The municipal animal-services organization said the incident is a reminder of the importance of responsible pet ownership, including spaying and neutering pets and keeping animals safely secured at home.

Community Animal Services said incidents like this can often be prevented through responsible pet ownership.

“Is this a sad story? Yes. Is this a preventable story? Yes,” read a statement from Community Animal Services officials.

Community Animal Services encourages pet owners to have their animals spayed or neutered and keep them safely secured at home.
