Man walking from Lethbridge to Edmonton to raise money for Lung Association

LETHBRIDGE, AB – One man began his 500 km journey Wednesday from Lethbridge to Edmonton in support of his father and others living with lung disease.

Edmonton’s Chris Sadleir raised $33,000 last year during his first Walk to Breathe from Calgary to Edmonton.

He’s upping the stakes this year with a much longer walk and a $50,000 which will be given to the Lung Association of Alberta and Northwest Territories.

Sadleir’s 2021 Walk to Breathe is underway now and will end in Edmonton on July 23rd, the day that also marks the five-year milestone of his own father’s lifesaving double-lung transplant.

I started my radio career in 2015, shortly after graduating from Lethbridge College. I have a very strong passion for local news. Proudly born in 1994, I grew up most of my life in Sylvan Lake, AB and I've lived in the Lethbridge since 2012. I'm a below average golfer on a good day, I take as many hiking trips to Waterton as possible in the summer and I love my two cats, Outlaw and Jynx, and my dog, Maverick, more than most people I know. I look forward to providing accurate, timely news coverage in southern Alberta for plenty of years to come!
