An alleged drug-trafficking network operating in southeast Alberta has been dismantled.

The three-month investigation by ALERT Medicine Hat wrapped up last Tuesday with seven arrests and the seizure of more than $60,000 in cash, cocaine and magic mushrooms.

Two vehicles were searched as were three homes in Medicine Hat and one in Elkwater.

In addition to the drugs and cash, police found shotguns and ammunition, knives, and other weapons.

Of the seven people facing charges, four are from Medicine Hat: 24 year old Kurtis Siemens, 23 year old Jazden Posti, 27 year old Kevin Ehrler, and 35 year old Michael Van De Wiele.

Three Edmonton residents have also been charged and police say more charges may be laid in the future.
