Crowsnest Pass commercial development beginning construction in the fall

BLAIRMORE, AB – A handful of new businesses will soon be popping up along Highway 3 through the Crowsnest Pass.

Over six acres of land at the former hospital site have been sold to Westbridge Developers here in Lethbridge. Crowsnest Mayor Blair Painter says negotiations with others are in the works, but, so far, he’s heard that Dairy Queen, Edo Japan, a Wyndham hotel and a cannabis retailer will be moving in.

“Definitely exciting to see things happening over there,” Painter told our radio station. “We have had lots of interest in this property. It’s a great opportunity for highway commercial development, and we’re really anxious to see it build up.”

He notes that this piece of land has been up for sale for about ten years, if not more.

Construction is expected to begin this fall.
