Lethbridge County issues fire ban

Effective 9 a.m. on August 19, Lethbridge County has issued a fire ban on all open fires.

All active fire permits are cancelled, and no new ones will be issued in the forseeable future. Burning of any kind is also prohibited, including yard waste and household garbage.

Fires that are fueled by liquids or gases and are contained by cooking or heating appliances like stoves or barbecues are still permitted.
