Milk River emergency room closes for a week

The Milk River Health Centre emergency department will be closed for a week due to lack of physician coverage. According to Alberta Health Services (AHS), the emergency room will close at 5 p.m. on May 12 and reopen at 5 p.m. on May 19.

“During the temporary closure, nursing staff will remain on-site to provide care for long-term care residents,” reads a news release from AHS.

Emergency calls will be rerouted to Lethbridge and Raymond during the closure.

“We are thankful for the support of surrounding healthcare centres and medical staff and would like to thank the community for their patience and understanding during this time,”AHS says.
