Lethbridge County lifts seasonal road ban

The seasonal road ban on Lethbridge County roads has been lifted as of 7 a.m., May 17th.

Lifting the ban means all gravel roads in the region will be 100 per cent axle weight loading, 24 hours a day unless otherwise posted.

The county road ban was put in place in March when gravel roads were vulnerable to damage. According to the county, road bans are put in place by municipalities across the province to protect infrastructure during things such as construction activities, maintenance or seasonal conditions which include spring thaw.

Some of county roads still remain under a permanent ban, and residents and businesses who are looking for more information can look on the county’s website for further clarification.
