Edmonton man presumed dead in Montana’s Glacier National Park

UPDATE: The man’s body was located Wednesday in Pray Lake in about 30 feet of water using a Remote Operated Vehicle brought in by the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office Dive Team. The US National Park Service says the man’s name will be released once family notifications have been made.

A 64 year old Edmonton man is presumed dead in Glacier National Park in Montana.

The US National Park Service says rangers responded to Pray Lake at about 4:30 Tuesday afternoon after a bystander spotted a man drowning.

Witnesses say it appears the man went into the lake to retrieve a dog when he began to struggle and went under the water.

The dog didn’t survive.

A search took place until dark and was set to resume again at first light Wednesday.

The area around Pray Lake will be closed while the search continues.
